Victoria Beckham, Maya Jama, Anne Hathaway: The 5 biggest tights trends for winter 2023
Tights trends come and go but one thing is for certain, when it comes to winter dressing no outfit is complete without leg warming hosiery. As we approach the colder months, it's time to start amping up our arsenal of sheers and opaques and make room for tights in our wardrobes.
As it happens, tights are actually the cool-girl must-have accessory for autumn/winter 2023. “With black dresses and some black tights with a pattern, you look different. It looks interesting,” Kristina Falke, international International PR Director of Falke previously, told Hello! Fashion. “With the patterns and bright colours, you should put on the tights and then choose what you wear. But with a black dress, anything goes.”

From the celebrities to the runway, these are the 5 biggest tights trends for winter 2023
Refined Fishnet Tights

The fashionistas made sure we had fishnet tights on our radars before September had even ended. Maya Jama wore them with a monochrome dress to the launch of Lotus London, whilst Mia Regan and Nicola Peltz both wore them to Victoria Beckham's SS24 Paris Fashion Show.
Sheer Tights

Gone are the days of Kendall Jenner's ultra thick back tights that she wore with that Bottega hot pants look last autumn. Sexy sheer tights with delicate dernier are back. Anne Hathaway proved exactly how to elevate an all-black outfit with sheer tights, wearing the chicest LBD and slingbacks.

Lace Tights

The combination of lace gloves plus rose-print reappearing this year makes it unsurprising that lace tights are a trend for AW23. Alongside black and white versions on street style agendas during Paris Fashion Week Victoria Beckham perfectly demonstrated how to style them for the launch of Victoria Beckham Beauty's inaugural perfume collection, wearing a black blazer and black stilettos, trying out this season's 'no trousers' trend. Also, pairing patterned tights with peep-toe shoes is the gold fashion rule she just keeps on breaking...
Pastel tights
Though they haven't quite reached fashionistas agendas just yet, it won't be long before they do. Colourful tights were all over the runways during the AW23 fashion shows in February this year. Miu Miu showcased hues of green, orange, plum and brown earth-toned pastels to inject some autumnal colour into an outfit this season.
Scarlet Shades
Red has already proven to be one of the biggest sartorial trends of this autumn, with almost every fashionista incorporating it into their outfits. From Florence Pugh's skintight jumpsuit to Hailey Bieber's mini dress, Sofia Richie's polo neck jumper and Alexa Chung's jeans. But the winter runways showed that tights also need to be on the agenda. Gucci, Chanel, Isabel Marant and Dolce and Gabbana are just a few labels that sent models down the catwalk in burgundy-hued tights.
